About Tom

Nothing comes before Tom Didier’s Family and Fort Wayne

Tom Didier has worked consistently to put Fort Wayne first in a life of service to the local community. He was elected to represent Fort Wayne’s Third District on City Council in 2003. He defeated twenty-year incumbent Tom Henry to win the city council seat.

His time on council has been marked by challenging votes, and Tom Didier has never shied away from making tough decisions and standing behind them. Didier supported the once-controversial Harrison Square development that brought Fort Wayne’s TinCaps downtown, he stood up for the property rights of small businesses during the smoking ban debate, he most recently held Mayor Henry accountable to the agreements the city entered into with the developers of the Electric Works project.

Professionally Tom worked in sales for U.S. Foods for over three decades. He has worked in the industry since he was a young man, cutting meat for his father, Marshall, at Didier Meats and now helping his sister at Tim Didier Meats. Every day he is working with small businesses across Fort Wayne helping them meet their needs and keeping the local economy moving.

Didier is a faithful Catholic and enjoys singing at Sunday Mass, weddings and funerals. Fort Wayne Komets fans know him from singing our National Anthem before the puck drop at many games. He is married to Mary (nee Gabet) Didier and has three children, Paul, Paige, and Lauren, and a grandson named Colton.
